Chinnor to Play in Bucks, Berks and Oxon Division 1
After the momentous win against Bicester last Sunday, the BBO league positions have been finalised.
Henley and Banbury have both decided not to enter the competition so Chinnor enter the fray as the top team in Oxfordshire. We will be playing in Division 1 with Marlow, Windsor, Maidenhead, Bicester, Oxford, Redingensians and Bletchley.
Unless they lose a play off game against a div. 2 club, all teams in civ. 1 will go through to the national u17s competition in either the cup (top 3) plate or bowl competitions.

Good news and bad news...While we were on tour Crispy returned to fitness giving us a glimse of the demon sidestep he has been perfecting during his lay up (!)
On Sunday during our somewhat one-sided match with a spirited Wycombe team, Lewi treated one of their players to his trademark tackle with the unexpected downside of breaking his own collar bone...ouch.

Guess what?? Elliott will be taking another short break - his wrist injury picked up in the autumn is still giving him problems. Well done for all the extra training you put in on that wrist but maybe you should stop that for a couple of weeks as well!
Niall's neck is another re-exacerbated injury we are currently dealing with. I know how frustrating it is to miss training and matches but you must make sure you are fully recovered before you declare yourself fit.

In his first game back Callumn Bates has re-exacerbated his shoulder injury and will be off for the next few weeks.
We all have our fingers crossed for Andy Berry who had his England trial last weekend. Andy has continued to impress throughout the selection process in spite of playing in a position he had not played in until this season.
From the Doctor's surgery....
Sadly during the Harpenden match Adam Crisp suffered a broken hand that is going to keep him out of competitive rugby until next season. Not only is this a blow for the squad, it is a huge blow for Crispy who has been a key player in the county squad and has a glittering future ahead of him.
However, all is not lost and Crispy will be joining Chris Watermeyer in coaching the backs for the rest of the season.
Andy Berry has been selected for the South of England squad. Having impressed the selectors last weekend Andy now has a chance to shine in the front row and go on to greater things. Well done Andy.
From the Doctors Surgery...
Frustratingly, Callumn Bates is out until after Christmas having sub-luxed his shoulder in the Bracknell game. Unlucky, Callumn.
It will come as no surprise to regular Doctor's Surgery readers that serial sickie Elliott Bevan will also be out until after Christmas having re-re-exacerbated (no typo) his wrist injury in the Witney game. Hopefully a month off will give him a chance to recover properly.
Mixed blessings from the county
The county XV failed to rise to the challenge again last weekend with a loss in their final match against Dorset and Wilts but...
Andy Berry has made it through to next round of selection towards divisional honours.
Many congratulations!
From the Doctors Surgery...
Callumn 'the Carpet' Bates suffered a painful sub lux of his shoulder during tha match against Bracknell but is making swift progress and swears he will be fit for Sunday - nice try....
Andy Berry tangled with George White, came off worst and is now nursing a broken nose that will keep him off for a week or two
County Blues
Unfortunately Oxon suffered another defeat, this time to Warickshire (?). Apparently Oxon had the measure (and beating) of Warks up front but their backs were able to waltz through Oxon to score three unanswered tries.
Final score: 15 - 0
For the statisticians amongst you (yeah, right!)
Bas is leading the points tally with 35 (7 tries). Tom Webb and Jack in equal second with 25 points apiece.
From the Doctor's Surgery...
Lewi is out for a couple of weeks nursing (if that is the right expression) his groin - ouch!
Elliott, the bookies favourite, is going to miss another couple of weeks after exacerbating his wrist injury.
County News
Oxon have a match this coming Monday night against Dorset and Wilts. Oxon will be keen to show their talent after suffering a defeat against Berks last week. The match is to be played in Swindon - if anyone wants to go along, ask me for directions or even a lift!
Oxon lose out to fast paced Berks
After Chinnor's 19 - 5 win over Reading last weekend I took myself along to Shiplake College to remind myself how the other players in our squad can play. After a promising start, Berkshire's speed out wide began to take it's toll and Oxon came in second. However, Andy scored one of Oxon's two tries - finally hanging around in the right place, Crispy's power and pace really tested the Berkshire defence on several occasions, Sam put in a very steady second half performance at full back showing much more attacking play than his first half colleague and the Ahlexocet was kept on the bench until the last quarter - an odd decision, I felt, considering how Ahlexi's no-nonsense defence seemed to be exactly what Oxon could have used.
Well done. A great showing from the Chinnor lads...or maybe I am biased!!
Another county selection...
It seems there is another member of our team who has gained county honours. Chris 'Pezza' Perry has been selected to represent Oxfordshire in the U17s playing football! It appears it was as big a shock to him as it was to everyone else. 'I didn't think I was that good,' Pezza admitted.
Congratulations, Pezza.
From the Doctor's Surgery....
Sadly, form hooker Elliott suffered a broken scaphoid bone (wrist) in the match against Marlow. He is going to be off for the next few weeks and we wish him a speedy recovery.
Anyone fancy a bet on how many injuries Elliott gets this season?
